We made a small, free Chrome extension for Tesla Wrap Generator. It puts the generator one click away from any tab: type a wrap idea in the toolbar, or right-click a line of text you like, and you land on the generator with your idea and your car already filled in.
Wrap ideas tend to show up while you are doing something else — a color on a poster, a phrase in a forum thread, a car on Instagram. The extension is there so you can act on them before the tab gets closed.
What the extension does
1. Toolbar popup. Click the icon, describe the wrap ("matte black with orange racing stripes", "koi carp over a midnight blue sky"), pick your car, and press Paint my wrap. The Tesla wrap generator opens with the prompt and the car pre-selected. The popup remembers the last car you picked.
2. Right-click any text. Select a few words on any page and choose Paint a Tesla wrap from "…". The selected text becomes your prompt.
3. Right-click an image. If a photo gives you the idea, choose Turn a photo like this into a Tesla wrap to open photo to Tesla wrap, where you upload the picture and get it painted onto the template.
4. Quick links. Right-click any page for the Model Y wrap generator, Model 3 wrap generator, Cybertruck wrap generator, the official Tesla wrap templates and the free 3D preview and PNG fixer.
5. Keyboard shortcut. Press Alt+Shift+W anywhere in Chrome to open the generator.
Pick the exact car
Every Tesla variant has its own UV template, so a wrap made for one does not line up on another. The popup lists each variant the generator supports:
- Model Y — 2025+ Premium, 2025+ Standard, 2025+ Performance, Model Y L, and 2020–2024
- Model 3 — 2024+ (Highland), 2024+ Performance, and 2017–2023
- Cybertruck
- Model S — 2021+ and 2025+ Plaid, and Model X 2021+ (flat preview only; no 3D model yet)
Not sure which one you have? The 2025 Model Y has the full-width light bar; the 2024 Model 3 Highland has slim headlights and no fog-light cutouts.
From idea to Paint Shop
- Send the idea from the extension.
- Press generate. The wrap is painted on the official template for your car, and you see it on a 3D Tesla right away (Model S and X show a flat preview).
- Download the PNG. It is already 1024 × 1024 (1024 × 768 for Cybertruck), under 1 MB and named the way Paint Shop expects.
- Load it with the Tesla app or a USB drive — see how to add a custom wrap to your Tesla.
If a wrap does not appear in the car, the wrap not showing guide walks through the seven usual causes.
Privacy
The extension only opens pages on teslawrapgenerator.com. It asks for a single permission, contextMenus, to add the right-click entries. It does not read the pages you visit, injects no scripts, and has no analytics or tracking. The only things passed to the site are the text you chose to send and the car you picked, visible in the address bar of the new tab.
Install
Find Tesla Wrap Generator on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome, then pin the icon to your toolbar. It works in Chrome and in Chromium browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store, such as Edge and Brave.
New accounts get one wrap free, so you can try the whole flow — idea, 3D preview, download, car — without paying. After that, see pricing.
FAQ
Is the extension free? Yes. The extension is free; generating wraps uses credits on the site, and your first wrap is free.
Does it work without an account? The extension opens the generator for anyone. You sign in on the site when you generate.
Can it make wraps for Model S or Model X? Yes. Pick them in the popup; the wrap is generated on Tesla's template as usual, with a flat preview instead of the 3D car. All official templates are on the templates page.
